They are doing their best

Snide remarks, constant criticism and nit picking for someone's cleaning or choices to survive racist and hostile environments are damaging.

If someone works long hours with low wages, picking them apart again and again is abuse, it is violence and damaging. They are doing their best. Don't speak to them more harshly because chances are they have been fielding more criticism and yelling than you might imagine. Maybe their feet hurt from lifting an elderly woman to and from the shower and taking care of her all day long while she shouts profanities at the worker, all for less than a livable wage.

Canada has long exploited and continues to funnel racialized persons into low wage precarious labour while handing out good jobs to their friends. Utilizing racialized bodies to fill gaps, and power tripping because they got access to networks that protect them.

Parents are doing their best, people are doing their best, support is what is needed, not more judgement.

If someone is upset, and angry ask them why? Bring them food and water, they might be overwhelmed and hungry and too tired to even ask for their needs to be met.

Long hours, unpredictable schedules, and low wages with racism additionally often lead to depleted resources and hunger that goes unaddressed. Food often times can solve a bigger problem. Most times a person just needs to sit, take a breka and have a meal with some good company, in a nice place to reduce conflict and stress. Most times they want joy, leisure and like everyone else company, and love too.
